Beards are in. And thus, so am I.

Sibley brought this article to my attention. Apparently, bears are in. I’m kind of on the fence about this one. Personally, I’ve always rocked the beard. If you see me without a beard, you can bet I’m growing it back (and it was probably only shaved off because Travis made me for some black and white short that nobody will ever see). And, I’ve always been one to encourage others to let their inner man free and grow the beard.

But, if this is all of the sudden a fashion trend, then every douche bag out there is gonna grow a beard. So I, somebody who’s always rocked the beard, fashion be damned, will be lumped in with all these fairweather beard-wearers when a strangers see me. Now yeah, I don’t really care about some stranger’s opinion, but it’s not cool.

I guess I’ll come out on the side that beards are always good, and even if a few DBs are growing theirs only because they want to make a silly fashion statement, well, then at least there are more beards out there. I guess we’ll know who’s really committed to a life of fuzziness when the whole fad dies down and the douche burgers move on to soul patches or whatever ridiculous fad will follow this one.
